on a job application do they REALLY need your specifics?

I want to apply for new jobs but it has been years since I have done so, and I no longer have when exactly I worked some places, and who my direct supervisor was. Is it ok to fill out the application without this information.

Well multiple things, first off a lot of applications now are all online, the way of paper has gone out the window. Also mostof the time they don't want all your work history only so far back, of course the more information you can provide the better your chances, the MAIN THING is to be honest , of course they are not gonna bother with something 9 years ago or whatver, they will more likely contact your last employer. Provide reasons why you haven't worked for whatver amount of time, and DON"T be misleading is the biggest thing. Good Luck!

Sit down, use your head and figure out the approximate month and year of starting and stopping the each job. Make a little cheat-sheet and keep it with you so that you use the same information on each application you write. Supervisors names are not that important but, without including dates you would certainly never work for me. If you really cannot remember when you worked where take your best guess just keep it consistent.

I am in the same situation as you. I cant put full dates, i just put the year.

As for names, dont put them, refer to the supervisor as the supervisor. I havedone this and when I have gone for interviews I have told them that i do not remember the name of the supervisor, as it was so long ago, so far they have all been ok with this.

If you want more information about filling out cv's then i got my info from the link below

It's not ok to skip this info. Why not call the places of employment and ask who is the manager? Get their name. Do you have an approx. month you worked? Ask some of your friends if they remember.
