They have been LA, California and Anaheim. Why do they keep changing? What should they be?

The reason is $$$$$
The original "L.A. Angels" were a minor league team that played in the City of Los Angeles.
The "California Angels" were the team of Nolan, The Cowboy, The Kingfish and Percy...The name was chosen a) because Anaheim was still basically a train stop in the middle of orange groves back then and b) to give the team a broader appeal. They hoped to attract fans from all over Southern California.
The "Anaheim Angels" was a creation of Michael Eisner's Disney...At the time Disney owned the team, they were trying to turn Anaheim into a mega-theme resort similar to Orlando...Disney basically used the Angels to promote their business plans (shamelessly, in my opinion). Funny thing is, with their World Series Title and outstanding team management...they actually DID form an "Anaheim identity."
Cue Arte Moreno....a shrewd businessman who knew that the fan base was pretty much maxed out and there was no chance of public funds for a new stadium. How, then, do you increase income? Easy! Change the name to "Los Angeles" Angels and you get to charge L.A. rates for advertising, broadcasting rights, etc. etc. etc.
The team name has always been a business decision...I just think the die-hard Anaheim fans got screwed in the deal.

They should be the Anaheim Angels. For some reason which no one has ever been able to actually explain effectively, the idiot Moreno thinks by adding Los Angeles to their name, even though they're not in LA city or county, it will make them more money. They do not put the words LA on their hats or uniforms so it's a complete mystery why you would alienate both Anaheim and Los Angeles which such a stupid move.

They did it strickly for advertising. With LA in the name they can advertise them selves as an LA team which to Moreno means they cover the OC & LA together. Which he thinks will make them more money! Trust me everyone who lives out here hates it. Even the Angel fans I know & trust me I know alot think it is F'n stupid!

They aren't the first team in history to change city's. Some even change states. It happens in all sports.
