How should the Lions go about the draft?

I say they should draft OL, DL, OL, then whatever after that, although I've thought that for the last 3 or 4 years. What do you think they should do?

I think they should trade down to get more picks. With how much they need and how deep this draft class is, they could trade down and still do very well. They definitely need some offensive line help. The defensive line needs some bolstering, but I'm not sure if their second pick should go there. I think OL, OL, then DL.

If they don't trade down, they should get Andre Smith. If they do trade down, Michael Oher could be available and they should pick him.

Address quarterback in free agency. Same approach with special teams.

I'm completely with you, especially that first pick. They have to stop trying to fill the skill positions - those guys can be found later - and a get a superior offensive lineman. There should still be a very good left tackle on the board when it's their turn - maybe Michael Oher? - and they should fill that position.

I'd go with either a D-lineman or linebacker with the second first-round choice, the one they gained in the Roy Williams trade. I'd then spend my second-rounder on another O-lineman at any position. After that, I'd try building some defensive depth although I'd nab another offensive lineman if a good one was still on the board.

They could use a QB, but I don't think this is the year to do it. It's going to take 2-3 years to build a good offensive line, so at this point it doesn't matter who's taking the snaps. Might as well let guys like Stanton and Orlovsky take the punishment, rather than destroying a rookie's confidence by putting him in a situation where he's destined to fail. Build the line, then bring in a guy who will fit whatever system the team has chosen.

Well, only if they are getting value at each position. I know one of the top 3 prospects is a LT. So, that should be decided already. Go with him. They have another first rounder from Dallas and if they can get a good speed rush D-End they could go that direction. This is probably the hardest position to draft, though. So many of these guys are busts and many of the best in the league were late round picks. Jared Allen was like a 7th round pick at long snapper. Their lines are definitely what need to be addressed. If Kitna is given a little time back there he could be serviceable. Imagine what K. Smith would do with a good line blocking.

Not a bad plan. The Lions were NOT as bad as their record shows. They lost a lot of close games and almost always put nice points on the board. I think the D could use more help. I would go DL LB and then maybe an OL..... I would work on the D......

honestly their is no correct answer to this question. You can go with a D-lineman or linebacker but that alone is not going to make the change their looking for. I honestly think you go with a QB and you work on the defense in free agency, with people like Julius Peppers from Carolina available you have a better chance of really improving your entire defense in free agency. As to which QB first absolutely not Stafford out of Georgia I've heard the rumors already because he's got a "huge arm" but he's also incredibly sloppy and inaccurate, he's just not as smart as some of the other guy's in the draft. Colt McCoy would be my first choice he's smart and makes good decision and in the long run you can work on a guy's arm over time but you can't fix stupid. So yeah I say best scenario is first pick McCoy their Second first round pick I'd probably go linebacker. Also I would go after coach mike Shannohan he could do wonders for that team.

Fire every player and get new ones. lol.

But in all seriousness.. Bradford is staying in College, and I don't think Stafford is the answer, but he might be. Take a Quarterback. You have to. Who was the last good Lions Quarterback?

I honestly can't even think of one.

They need a monster at both DE and DT. An improved pass rush would help the Defense. They should also get a stud linebacker to help stop the run.

I'd say always reinforce the lines if you don't have good ones. That's where the games are won and lost.
