Amir Khan vs Marco Antonio Barrera at 135lbs?

Now I just found this out, and it might turn out like Khan's fight against Prescott. Amir Khan is fighting future HOF Marco Antonio Barrera on March 14th. Now my question is why? Is Khan in that league yet to step big like this, and is Frank Warren setting himself up for a big failure on this one. I alone do not like to see this matchup for several reasons:

1. Barrera is still a good fighter and is not shot.

2. He is not rusty by no means! His last fight was about 3 months ago and he won by KO.

3. Barrera can punch! With 43KO's to his record and Khan's chin I do not know about this one!

Any answers????

i think after the sparring with manny apparently being very competetive and with freedie roach knowing barrera well that freedie roach and warren must be preety confident to have taken this fight and so with that in mind i think khan will win this, bar the prescott fight he looked good and it wasnt like he got bashed up for 5 rounds and put down 3 or 4 times he got caught with his hands down with a big shot and got knocked out this dosent really take anything away from his boxing skill

Barrera has proven to be a great champion and only loss by decisions while Khan has lost to a KO. Since Khan is the champion, he must show what he got to be a champ and Barrera as the veteran and the legend of 135 lbs, he can bring on heavy shows and excite the boxing spectators.

It is a really intersting fight.

Barrera is a mandatory for Nate Campbell, so I'm not sure why he is doing this.

I think it's a really compelling fight. I could see Khan being too much right now, but I could also see Barrera taking him to school. Good fight.

Id love to know what strings warren and co have pulled to fix this. They are going to try and do what they've done with Calzaghe fighting Hopkins and Jones in the twilight of their careers!Barrera will stop Khan because of his cheek in getting in the same ring as this great fighter.

Naz had a better chin than Khan, and Barrera ain't to old to school another kid from Britain.

well its a big risk for khan but if he ever wants to be known as a top boxer he has to beat the best & barrera has been at the top for years now.

i think that khan bit more than he can chew , yes paquiou beat barrera and freddi roach was his coach but lets keep in mind one thing khan is by no mean as good or talented as the paq-man

I don't think its a good idea for Khan, he should be fighting other people who have similar records like his

Barrera's experience alone can defeat him.
