When you ask a question do you use the thumbs up/down facility to rate every answer or not?

I hardly ever use the thumb down button, as I believe that over-use has removed all significance completely. I do, however, give a thumb up to all answers that I consider respectable: whether I agree with them or not.

I only rate answers I like with thumbs-up. I wouldn't rate an answer I didn't like with thumbs-down because that person went out of their way to answer my question, even if it was copied and pasted (which I dislike). I would, however, give an answerer to my question a thumbs-down if they were rude somehow. I don't spare people like that.

Yes, if people take the time to give me advice, I give them a thumbs up, I would only ever use the down if they were rude or personal about a serious question.

I give all the people who answer a thumbs up unless they are rude or obviously seeking two points by posting something like 'idk'. I rarely give thumbs down but will do so for a really obnoxious answer like 'go kill yourself'' whether I answer the question or not. Sometimes I answer and at the same time say something to the nasty poster like 'think shame on yourself for that answer.' Not too often though for obvious reasons!

Pretty much. Especially when the question has not been read properly, and you are given an answer that is irrelevant. They get the thumbs down. And when you use the wrong word in your question for brevity, and all people can do is pick up on it.

I might, or I don't. Depends on the answer. If someone belittles the questioner by name calling, I give thumbs down or report abuse if it's really bad. If the answer is REAALLLYYYY good, I give thumbs up, but not on every answer. Just a few.
