Christians, would you refuse to drive an atheist bus?

Yes, the atheist bus returns, once more, to the news:

a Christian driver has refused to take one out from the depot, responding with "shock" and "horror" to the idea.

For reciprocity...

Any atheists: what advertising would you object to if you were a bus driver, and do you think you could make your objection stick?

Of course, I wouldn't refuse to drive the bus. I have plenty of atheist friends, and am not opposed to the idea of atheism. Even though I'm not an atheist myself, I feel that people have the right to believe (or disbelieve) whatever they like. I never was the type to expect the entire world to share my religious beliefs. And it's just a bus with advertising on it. What's the big deal? Shock and horror? This guy needs to get out of the house more often, if that's all it takes to horrify him.

Oh how stupid. It's not an atheist bus... it's a bus with an advertisement on it. Just like practically every other public transport bus. When is the last time you heard of someone refusing to drive a bus because it had viagra on the side? People will find anything to make into a big deal.

  • Bus company = private enterprise, ergo, no problem with them accepting advertising dollars from anyone willing to pony up. The guy should find another job if he's worried about "condoning sin" or any such crap like that.

    @ Solarius: Excellent answer!

No, my job as a bus driver is not reflective of my beliefs..

I do not choose the advertisements that get posted on the bus I am assigned to drive for that day...

Atheists have as much right to advertise their non beliefs as I do to ignore them...

I think it's silly to do that.

While I do not agree with the add campaign, it's not my position to say they can't say it.

I would only object IF the add was claiming facts. This add was posing a thought or idea. TWO completely different things.

    Weird.

As long as I get paid, I could care less.

I can drive a bus full of little devils, just pay me.

These are hard times financially and economically. I would pray to have the courage to risk losing my job to do what is right. I praise God for that Christian's bravery in the face of that threat of firing.

    i would definitely NOT refuse.
