What should I use to remove smell that I can't smell?

My wheatie, Bear has a few blankets that he pees on. They are cages for his crate that he has peed on at some time or another. When he is given a new blanket, he won't pee on it. What should I use to get rid of the smell he is obviously smelling on the older blankets?

***Until then, my kitten Jax has a pretty tall pile of blankets to sleep on***

Update:

What is a vinegar rinse? Do I just put vinegar and water together?

Vinegar and water is safe for the dog and also for you too. I use it to clean all the time. Natures miracle is also a GREAT product too. Not only for the blanket, but for any other spots the dog may have urinated.

I put about a cup of white vinegar in with the blankets when my puppy used to pee on his blankets. Seemed to work!

Simple Solution is also a great cleaner and is an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle. Both have enzymes that "digest" the bacteria in the urine and remove the smell so the dog won't urinate in that area again. I use Simple Solution when I launder the dog towels and bedding. I assume you can use Nature's Miracle in the wash as well. Both are wonderful products.

The only thing that will work is to throw them out and get new ones..The dog has 260 million scent glands and whatever you try to do he will still smell the scent..He should have 1 blanket in his crate but if he is peeing then you need to take him out more often..Usually if you remove the water by 7pm and take them out before bed then the pup won't mess the crate.

Put half white vinegar and half water in a spray bottle and spray the blanket till its kinda soaked and let it air dry and then wash it in a laundry mat. And that should work.

Use Natures Miracle. It does work. You gotta eliminate the smell, not to cover it.
