Phantom of the Opera question?
I know I'm ages behind the times, but just watched the Phantom movie for the first time. I've watched it at least a dozen times. Can you tell how obsessed I am?? I am totally in love with it!
One of the several things I don't understand is why Raoul would buy Erik's music box to place on Christine's grave. I get the sentiment, but since they weren't exactly friends, why would he want something that belonged to someone who put him through such turmoil? Or is it because he realized Christine really did love Erik?
Any, and all, opinions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thank you so much!

Well, I'v seen that movie ALOT also( Emmy Rossum ftw!)
I think it sybolizes what they went through together and he knew that she still cared about the Phantom, even though he didn't want to admit it. It was one item that she really did care about.
Hope this answered your question =D

I think its because the music box reminded him of the phantom which reminded him of Christine. She didn't really have feeling feelings for him but still loved him. You know what I'm saying?
But I loved the part with the ring on the rose by the grave. Ahh so cute!

First of all it is the phantom's music box. He bought it because Christine often spoke of it. He says "She often spoke of you my friend your velvet line and you figurine of led."

its to help her be at peace .....he is comfortable with doing it cos she ultimately picked him , and all he ever wanted was for christine to be happy .....its a showing of how strong her love was for both men ,aswell as how much he adored her himself
