Systems, school systems, road authority systems, government department systems, law systems, etc?

Our whole lives are controlled by numerous systems, How much of our lives i wonder is truly our own. And i can't help thinking that all systems are there to protect themselves.

And before there were governmental systems, there were social pressures such as gossip and ostracizing. Oh, wait... We still have those... Ever watched a gossip defending their sources? Yes, all systems will indeed work to protect themselves.

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, my friend. If it ain't one thing, it's three.

The first and foremost function of any system is to ensure it's own existence. That much is true. Sure, there are powers in place that seek to exploit and so on, but I would not go as far to say all of them.

It's tough to cut through all the grim and corruption, but every once in a while you see a part of a system that is genuinely trying to help.
