The best way is by hand. Simply wipe the plants off. Also keep a check on your water changes of 25% weekly to keep the nitrates down. As was mentioned you can use phosphorus pads, however your other plants will also suffer.
Watch how much fertilizer you use on your plants. this will also increase the algae.
Some algae chemicals are fine with certain plants but it is never a good idea to use chemicals in your tank. Use your fingers and simply clean it gently off the plants.
You can choose to remove your plants (if you have kept them in pots) to clean This I found is the best way to have a planted aquarium. You can remove the plants clean them and prune them from any rotting roots and brown leaves.

use algea pads,their safer and dont have any chemicals tried to answer your qoestion a bit more but was blocked dont know why but have an idea,dont use cleaners.
