why do Karaoke cd's have some other recorded person'(s) often singing along with you?

doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of doing Karaoke?

i find that so annoying

and half the time it's like your totally solo, then like in the middle of the song you hear this other voice start singing, and it's like, "what? shut up please"

So that you will have the right pitch as the song.

A lot of people have trouble singing a song if they can't hear the vocal pitch sing along with them.

    Mostly tone deft people.

It could either be a harmony, so it's not exactly the note your singing but makes a lovely sounding contrast, or that part of the song (in the original) which has more than one voice singing for effect.

Or just that the vocals couldn't be taken off properly!

    Hope I helped :)

Some CDG's contain backup vocals for chorus or harmony, but not all of them. Some have an light sounding instrument for the melody track so you have something to follow. If the KJ has more than one version of that song, try the other versions.
