Why are music fans looked down upon for discovering a band or artist from Guitar Hero or Rock Band? ?

It's not people that discover bands on Rock Band or whatever. That's fine. It's the people that are like "OMG Santana is the best guitarist EVER his music is SO GOOD MY IDOL!" when all they know is Black Magic Woman on Guitar Hero.

I don't so much have a problem with that aspect of it. I love to see someone, especially younger kids, catch on to some of the classic rock songs and jam to them. That part is great.

What I hate, is when these same kids want to try and talk music with you, and then the only thing they really know is that one song from guitar hero. If they would discover the band, and then actually go and listen to more than one song, I would be overjoyed.

It is mostly just kids who like the band/song because it is fun to play on the game, and not so much the actual music.

It is good listening to new music you wouldn't normally hear..

But I do know if you're a hard core fan of a band and some (KIDS) listen to them only because they heard it on a game is very annoying.

people have stupid mindsets thinking that the only reason they like it is because they like the game. I say its still music, so does it matter?

ahhahahahah, i make fun of my friends if im like 'OMG, i didnt know you like tickle me pink!' and they are like 'i only know one song by them, the one on rock band'.

to the hard core fans, its kind of annoying. idk why, it just is. haha.
