Huevo's band of the day?

Along with Low and Codeine, Bedhead helped to pioneer the slo-core movement in the early '90s. Based out of Dallas, the band released 4 e.p.'s and 3 full-length albums before breaking up. Not long after, the two founding brothers formed The New Year.

Update:

Yes Lordmetal. And do you have anything else to contribute.

By the way, I did not thumbs down your question.

Update 2:

Glad you guys like them. :)

Update 3:

You're absolutely right Radio Waves, I can't think of a thing out there that really resembles solocore anymore. It is too bad, Codeine, Low, and Bedhead put out some really mesmerizing material back in the day. And I'm also drawing a blank for anyone else who might have fit into that genre.

Update 4:

Hey Mr Bernstein, great point. I could easily see the genre/subgenre/whatever coming from an influence on Slint. You should check out The For Carnation as well if you never have, it's Brian McMahon's next project, fairly reminiscint of Slint.

Slocore seems to have disappeared mostly. Which I think is kind of sad. Not even Low is really slocore anymore, al though I still like their sound. It keeps all of the aesthetics of it without actually being as slow as it used to be.... if that makes any sense.

Great band though, thnaks for introducing me to them. My slocore knowledge is pretty limited... basically to Low and Codeine, actually.

Hey Huevo - Happy Friday! I Decided to be a participant in today's "Band of the Day" hehe :-D Beat Happening just blew my mind! I like Johnson's voice. And that's a pretty interesting story regarding the ashtray mishap, and all

Hi Huevo, love the band "Bedhead." (Hey, I resemble that remark.) ;-)

Wow, never heard of "slocore" term before, but it fits. It reminds me of a band called Slint from the early 90's.

This band is fantastic, I loved them! "The Rest of the Day" was also my favorite, though "Parade" was a very close second. I'm listening to "Roman Candle" right now and I love the vocals and delivery. Excellent stuff, I'm checking out their self-titled album as I type. Thanks so much for sharing! :)
