2001-02 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT Anti-Theft Systems - Impala & Monte Carlo DESCRIPTION & OPERATION PASSLOCK(TM) ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM Anti-theft systems available on this vehicle are Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) system and optional Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system. VTD prevents theft of vehicle by keeping vehicle from starting. CTD is a vehicle alarm system which discourages entry into vehicle. SECURITY indicator The instrument cluster illuminates SECURITY indicator in message center as determined by VTD and CTD systems. Instrument cluster receives a class 2 message from BCM in order to control SECURITY indicator. VTD system commands instrument cluster to control SECURITY indicator only when ignition switch is in RUN position and uses it as a malfunction indicator. CTD system commands instrument cluster to control SECURITY indicator only when ignition switch is in OFF position and uses it to identify system status. CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM CTD system, when armed, is designed to deter vehicle content theft by pulsing horns and exterior lamps for approximately 2 minutes when an unauthorized vehicle entry is detected. However, CTD system does not affect engine starting. An unauthorized entry can be any of following with CTD system armed:  Forced entry into passenger compartment.  When any door is opened without being unlocked by using key to unlock either of front doors or UNLOCK command from a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter.  Forced entry into rear compartment. Components of this system are: WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. NOTE: Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system functions interact with Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system but is diagnosed as a stand-alone system. NOTE: Anti-theft system does not interact with radio Theftlock(tm) equipped vehicles. Radio Theftlock(tm) is diagnosed as a stand-alone system. Si lleva esta clase de llaveen el control panel no aparece el foquito de esta luz. desde el año 2004 en delante le pusieron en el control panel la luz que indica la llave.

bien lleva llave inteligente con inmovilizador
