Comments on a poem about three ground hogs?

lonely ground hog stuck out her head

but something was missing.....

no,

it wasn't the sun

it was the shadow that

had always been there

every year on this day

her sister, dear,

appeared

to celebrate

their shared birthday

first time in 59 years

she wasn't there

last year she passed away

lonely ground hog shed

many a tear

wanting her shadow

to be near

but God in His infinite wisdom

8 years ago this same day

arranged something

too clever for words

a grandson was born

to share day

she dried her tears and

picked up the phone

as she had done

every year before

the shadow had changed

yet remained the same

birthday greetings

were exchanged

between

ground hogs

Dedicated to the memory of my sister, to my grandson and I guess to me, who all share a Ground Hog Day birthday.

Update:

No, we were not twins, she was four years older than me.

    Your poem is well penned

    your sentiments, tributes remembered

of very warm heart that you cherish

in joyous celebration, and I wish your day well,

Yet, I have to say, the name ground hound

sends shivers up my spine, brings goose bumps to skin,

as on 15 acres of woods they can dig in to China and back,

but no! they like close to the house and at times any foundation,

at those times I wish, I could be Annie Oakley, and have the guts to shoot them! Happy future birthday and many more.

*hugs* to you ma. just yesterday mom was talking to me, about how it's so sad to get old and lose your siblings. she was from a family of 6 kids, she's the youngest, at 83, of three left. two sisters are both in nursing homes, one with alzheimers. they were always so close, coming here from norway in 1928. when you're young you never think about how things will end up, she never thought she's be the one left with all the memories, it's sad for her not to have them here to talk to with about the "old days".

    That is lovely, amazing, wonderful.

Some things, magical, mystical, miracle, divine intervention, I don't know.

An underlying law of nature that taps us on the shoulder demanding our recognition of it's obvious presence.

    It's a blessing :)
