Simply contact them and ask that the payment date be changed.
If you close the account, it will affect your score and lower it. This is because it reduces your available credit (the history of the account remains). So your utalization ratio will change (the amount you owe compared to the amount of credit available.)

If you want to keep the card. You can call the 1800 number on the back and ask them to switch your payment due date to the end of the month.
If you want to cancel the credit card call the same number on the back of the card. I've heard that it can negatively affect your credit to cancel credit cards. However, if you don't use them or you have too many to start with. You should cancel it. I have an 800 credit rating and I only have two credit cards.
Focus on making sure you have what you need. If you don't need it get rid of it. Also, having more cards gets you into the habit of using them. Neither are good. I only use them for purchasing stuff online. If I'm at a store I pay with cash.

right it is why canceling taking part in cards can harm your score, exceptionally. Your credit, different than for on-time invoice money, is in accordance with 2 different variables: your earnings to debt ratio and your debt to credit obtainable ratio. subsequently, in case you cancel the taking part in cards, enable's say each and every card is granting you a minimum of a $5,000 credit cut back, you're lowering your obtainable credit by potential of only approximately $15,000 mutually as your different expenditures stay the comparable. If on that final card you have it maxed out (which you're saying you do no longer, yet as an occasion), then yeah this could mirror badly. If inspite of the undeniable fact which you will do away with the stability on your fourth card, perchance even ask the cardboard organisation to advance your cut back once you're thinking of protecting it and you qualify, then slowly cancel the different 3 taking part in cards one after the different, this could placed you in extra effective shape. nonetheless, the reality you had almost 4 credit taking part in cards on your checklist is going to chew you slightly finally, yet credit does heal with time. in case you haven't any longer considered your credit record in a mutually as, i could try making advantageous you haven't any longer have been given any mastercard debt and cancel one among them. Then a month later, verify your credit record (you will get a credit record for unfastened as quickly as a three hundred and sixty 5 days). See the place it falls. something above 650 is seen a great score, so once you're above that, i could think of you would be nice to do away with the others too.

Do not cancel. Part of credit score is credit HISTORY. When you close a card, you lose that history on your credit report. Just once every two months buy a cup of coffee with it to keep it active and it will HELP your credit score.
