How do I tell my best friend that I want to go to college without her?
My best friend and I were talking about going to college together a few months back. Now this would be perfectly fine...had she been a bit closer to my age. I'm a senior and she's a freshmen. We've been best friends for quite a while now, but I'm ready to go to college and don't want to wait another 3 years for her to catch up. I mean I'd love to go to college with her and experience everything for the first time and all...but i don't really want to stay at home for another 3 years. I'd rather go off and begin my life. But how the heck am I supposed to tell her that I don't want to wait for her to catch up? That I want to go now and that I don't want to wait? If I tell her this it would just kill her. We were so excited about this, but now that I realize how long I'd have to wait before I could begin my life...i don't want to wait. I want to get out of the house NOW!

You need to go. You can get out of the habit of studying and forget a lot in 3 years. You may want to go at the same time but you have a lot more to lose then she does. I would let her know that you need to keep going now. You can't afford to wait.If she is a good friend she may be disappointed but she should be mature enough to understand.
