there are lots of things to do with him. get out pots and pans and show him how to bang it (teaching him about sounds). go around the house and show him things adn name them all. name everyhitng and narrate everythign (getting used to words and familiar with all kinds of names for things) sit with your knees bent adn put him on your lap facing you and play "where is baby's ____" like where is baby;s nose? right here and point out his nose (taeching him body parts) point out colors. turn on the tv and point out things and shapes and colors.

ETA~ oooh, reading it good. more pictures to narrate. and peek a boo is an all time favorite

Source(s): my daughter is 12 mo and everyone points oput everything to her. yesterday she pointed to the moon and told me "moo" and she pointed to her toy boat and she said "bo"

    Read him books

    Sing songs

Turn on some music and dance with him

Get some toys that you can play with him with

Hes not too young to paint if its non toxic and he is supervised(and how cute is that gonna be to have)

Go for a walk( i know its winter it is here too and i have to take a double stroller) He wont freeze if hes dressed properly.

Find a mommy and me group thing to go to.(alot of community centres have them for free)

Mostly just talk to him. He wants to hear and see you since you matter most to him and it doesnt matter what you say. Tell him how to make toast or how cute his toes are :).

    Good Luck!

Read him books, start singing the abc's and 123s, use flash cards. It would be some good ways to get him started. Make the cards colorful so it will keep his attention.

sing songs with him, play peek-a-boo, read to him. yes, read! the sooner you start reading to baby, the better. even if he doesn't sit for a whole story, let him hold the book, listen to what reading sounds like, etc. make books a part of his day....i know it seems silly at this age, but it can't hurt, and it *can* help!

my partner is a psychologist and he was adamant that a baby needs me time too. sometimes they like to play on thier own. sometimes they want to play with you.

so it's okay to let them play for half an hour.

play with them too, make it a game. try colouring in. m,y littlegirls used tolove this. i got some really big non-toxic crayons and a big roll of paper and we would lie on it and scribble. she loved it.
