    I have a hunch that Gov. Patterson told her he was going to pick someone else (I suspect Andrew Cuomo) & gave her the opportunity to withdraw. Withdrawing saves her public image & Gov Patterson's base supporters (women)

    It's also entirely possible she has her own personal reasons for withdrawing that we don't know about.
