I just made some meringue cookies...how long will these last in an airtight container? ?

I would like to ship them to my bf who is in the military so they would be going out to his base a couple states away.

    4 to 5 days!

But make sure it's really sealed.

Trust me... I know these kind of things.

they last a long time in air tight container with no moisture. Our bakery uses a layer of meringue on a cake they make and they make a big batch of the meringue once every 2 weeks but store it in a cool place and in air tight containers. I have eaten it both the day its made and a week or so later and no difference in flavor.

They should be ok to ship, but may have some breakage. The odds are that he will not have to worry about how long they last once they arrive - homemade goodies don't last long! But a week is probably a safe guess.
