Would my baby survive at this point?
I'm 32 Weeks pregnant and she is estimated at 3lb 11oz. I was told I would probably deliver early due to my health. I just wanted to know how good of a chance would my little Addison have of surviving a healthy delivery at this point.

Check out this study:

Baby's chance of survival is good (study finds ~86% for neonates admitted into a neonatal care center). Anything before 37 weeks is considered preterm, however if you are having a girl it is not as big a deal as girls develop more quickly in utero.
Best of luck!

I'd say there is a pretty good chance of her surviving, but the doctor should be able to tell you more. They will do tests to see how mature her lungs are. She will probably be in the intensive care unit for a little while, but with today's medical advancements she has a very good chance of surviving.
There have been babies born as early as 24 weeks and have survived with a lot of medical care and treatment.

Premature babies get extremely good care in hospitals these days so chances of a healthy delivery and good health at 32 weeks are good. My niece was born at 29 weeks weighing 2lb 4oz and she is perfectly fine and healthy...she's now 16. Hope little Addison stays in there as long as possible for you and good luck! xx

since your 32 weeks and even though she is only estimated to be 3 lbs 11oz. i would think she has a good chance. she might have to be monitored more closely but she would probably be fine. try to relax. just think each day longer she has in there the bigger she will get. good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and your daughter.

wow i was born that exact weight 25 years ago! when the technology wasnt as great either!
i had my 1st full term they said she was 5 1/2 lbs she was in fact 4lbs 9 oz, she was fine..my second was 1 month early sonogram said 5lbs she was 6 3.....therefore they are off,
i would be more concerned with the lungs, if they think you will be early, theres a steroid to boost the lung maturity....but you will be fine, stay monitored though and relax, im here with 2 daughters now, im only 5 feet and petite but healthy lol!!!! good luck

Yes she would have a good chance. Science has advanced so far now. The youngest baby to survice was 21 weeks. Many babies surviive when they are born at that age. There is a 90% survival rate at that age.

There's a very good chance of survival, but be prepared for the many challenges of low birth weight babies. She will probably have to be in the NICU unit for awhile, which will be scary for you, but more and more mothers are experiencing that nowadays due to medical technology enabling preemies to survive and because of the rising rate of multiple pregnancies.

I am sure that your doctor told you the risks.. However, your baby will be just fine.. I had twins at 30 weeks and they were perfect.. there lungs were a little under developed and did not have the sucking reflex to eat so they had to tube feed them but they were both home within a week.. You will be fine and so will the baby.

my baby sister (4th baby for my mom and dad) was born 5lbs 1oz (they told my mom she was only going to be abou 3 pounds) at 31 weeks... she is now going to be 24 March 1st, never had any developmental delays tested above in everything, and by month 6 she was fully caught up with milestones... have your dr perform the FFN Fetal Fibronectin test on you, they take a swab of the cervix and basically test a hormone released, if it is pos there is a higher chance you will have the baby in 2 weeks, if neg there is relatively no chance of birth int he next 2 weeks... this helps them assess premature birth and also give necessary steriods to help lung development.

with proper hygienic care 100% honey
my sister in law had her grandson 2.5lbs , he is now 4months perfectly healthy
my cousin had both of her babies 3lbs the are like 4 and 7 (years)perfectly healthy
but after your precious bundle of joy comes into your arms, the first 2 months will be intensive hygienic care on your part no kissing the baby no one else touches except you, always wash hands before touching the baby ....your doc will guide you through it, and you will manage it:) and pretty soon he'll be months and year....
I wish you all the best
