how to remove antivirus 2009?

Hi Everyone, I picked up antivirus 2009 through a fake email sent by "Sally May". If you have loans through Sally May please be careful in opening your email.

I have spoken to a tech. support agent at my school (I am an online student) and it was recomended that I download the program malwarebytes. Acording to his directions, I needed to run adaware first, then the malwarebytes program to remove this virus from my computer.

Unfortunatlly my home computer does not alow me to search online for the proper way to remove this program. The virus itself sends me to blank pages when I search. I know that one of the infections is a "Vundo" infection followed by several trojans.

From work, I have attempted to find possible remedies for this infection but have come up empty handed and my school tech. support has no other suggestions.

If you have had this problem or know the proper way to remove this virus I would really apreciate your help (especially with my limited search abilities on my home comp... and I can not risk getting fired for doing personal business).

Thank you thank you thank you! My education/grade in this class is dependant on the removal of this virus.

Antivirus 2009 is an unwanted program, from the authors of Antivirus 2008 . These applications have resembling interface and "features". After stealth installation, Antivirus 2009 will show tonns of fake spyware\adware detection messages and offers to remove reported threats (after you purchase commercial version). But in real Antivirus 2009 is not a spyware cleaner, it's just an imitation of spyware remover. Antivirus 2009 can also slow your computer and cause system errors and crashes. Remove Antivirus 2009 using manual removal instructions (for advanced users) or removal tool.

Try running your web searches and anti-malware scans in Safe Mode with Networking. SMWN sometimes keep the malware from protecting itself.

To get into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking:

    1. Log out and reboot your machine.

    2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

    3. Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.

    4. Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.

    5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.

    6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

    Good luck.

You can download 30days trail of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 or Adware to remove it. However, not sure it works because your system has been affected and it is hard to remove simply by downloading these two anti-spyware software. Suggest you to format the computer and to re-install the operating system. Before do that, you need to backup everything you have in your computer. The most important part is that you need to make sure that you can identity the drivers of sound card, modem/network card, graphic card and other type of drivers. If you're unsure, you can find out everything in properties under "My Computer".
