Whats the difrence between pci express 2.0 16x and pci express 16x?

I have a pc-chips Motherboard that has a PCI Express 16x and im wondering if i can use a card with a ati radion 4hd in it, witch usis a pci express 2.0 16x, can I, or should i look for one that just sayes pci express 16x

My Machine:

-4 gigs of ddr2 ram

-AMD Pheneom X3 2.1 ghzX3

-currently a simple nvidia geforce 6600, 128 bit, 256 mb vram

-160 gigs hd

-windows 7 beta (yay works pritty good)

    No major difference, x16 cards will work on x16 2.0 mobo slots and vice verca. The only real difference is that theoretically you would have higher bandwidth for information (double as many lanes on the freeway) but it is unlikely that graphics cards dont (not that many cars).

    Go with whatever you want but I recommend a x16 2.0 just in case graphics card ever decide to use up the bandwidth.

    If you have pci express 16x slots, find a graphics card with for pci express 16x. pci express 2.0 16x is the faster version, but you need pci express 2.0 16x slots. btw, where did you get windows 7 beta? I want it!

    I don't think a pci express 2.0 16x can run in a pci express 16x slot.
