If you had the power to change any one event in your life, what would it be?
Most of us have one certain experience/event in our lives we'd love to be able to do over. Without giving enough specifics to be convicted, I'd love to hear what yours would be.

The Experience of HIgh School -
I blew it off and compromised my entire life on account of doing that. I was 4.0 on the honor roll all the way through 9th grade and most of 10th grade . Then in 11th I went down the Honor Roll and finally in the 12th grade I don't even know if I made it at all. I lost my chances for scholarships, and for the future I really wanted to have, in college I didn't improve my study habits and blew that away also.
I have regretted this for the last 50 years, more and more every year. How could I have been so
stupid , I have asked myself over and over. I had the ability to have it all and I just threw it all away for nothing. I got married young, at 21, and was already working for an airline. I had children and focused on them, being a stay at home mom for a few years then I went back to work again.
Life went on and before I knew it, I had missed the chance to ever do what I hadn't when the time was right and my responsibilities weren't split in a dozen different directions. My life has been difficult, never having financial comfort , doing without so many things that make life wonderful, like being able to pay a dentist to fix proper teeth for many years.
It would be so different if I could go back. All too often, Youth is Wasted on the Young. It was with me.

I would not change one thing. If I did then I might not have my 3 little girls with my husband who I have now. I am very happy with what I have and who I am.
I never finished high school, got a GED went on the College, did a lot of drugs, made a ton of mistakes, but if I could give all that back I would not becasue it made me who I am today, and without doing those things I would not have what I love most. So I am happy with the road I have taken
But if we brought back 9/11, I would not have my middle daughter. She was conceived on that very day, as many other children around the world were too.

Karkie and all you "i wouldn't change a thing peps" you are just arrogant! how can you possibly say that who you are today is of so enormous a value that all the pain you caused others is worthless and you would do it all over again. Yeah you doing drugs hurt your family friends and made some drug lord rich so he could continue to pimp girls and beat up boys. How about the time you insulted your mother or cheated on your spouse or did one of the million wrong things you know you did. Grow up that line "my mistakes have made me who I am" is so midd afternoon TV makes me sick! because thats not the point at all! Hitler was hitler because he killed millions of Jews, him doing it all over agian would make him twice the evil demon! No, who you are right now is not so incredibly awesome that the rest of the world has to put up with all the crap that you did and somehow feel thankful you turned out the way you are!
what would I change? If I had one choice only one? man I'd take back any of a bunch of awful mistakes I made that I won't tell anyone about ever #-P Some were pretty messsed up, and hurt people, so yeah eventhough I am today what I am, and I am probably way better than most, I'd change those mistakes in a heart beat.
Think about it people don't be so incredibly selfish, you current identity is not that awesome as to atone for all the hurt you brought to the world.... REPENT! (isn;t that what repentance is all about, wishing you would take back what you did wrong?)

i don't really know. a big part of me says that i would simply not want to be born, for i see a lot of ugly in our world, in other people and within myself. on the other hand, i wouldn't know the smell of rain or the calm of a clear winter night.
with regret comes wisdom.

Nothing. Everything i've lived through has made me who I am today. Besides, i've had a pretty great life!

I would've left my all my ex's in Texas and moved to Tennessee!
I probably shouldn't have blown off Melissa Etheridge when she offered me that second drink, and gone back to her table and drank it with her.

That I didn't get lost in drugs for so long, consequently losing my sense of self.
