A question about my dog Suza?

I was told when I got this dog that he is a Shepard Chow mix- agree or not?

He is smart, learns commands quickly & loves to show off when he can- especially for children. But once on a job- he's all business until we get back home.

He's being trained for security work. I won't train him for drugs or EOD. If he passes the tests, I may train him for search & rescue.

Update:

He's got the purple splotches on his tongue & roof of his mouth typical of Chows. I had a Blk Lab/Basset Hound mix ( I'd still like to know which breed was the male & which was the female for that combo) & he didn't have any splotches.

Update 2:

New Photos

You can't see it in this photo, but he has a curly tail. The photo makes him look like he has a bobtail.

One thing's for sure, he is indeed infused with Chow Blood. (I'm an avid lover of Chows. It was my first dog! :) The tongue and curly tail, give away the genetics. If he is learning commands quickly and executing them with precision, and good with kids...9 times out of 10, he is definitely shepard! The deep black coat is making you think of Lab, but Chows are also notorious for their beautiful black coats! So do I agree that Suza is Shepard Chow mix?...Definitely Yes. Labs are mostly loyal and lax in their reactions, and sheps rise to the occasion. Trust me, I know, I've had all three!

He definitely has chow mixed in him. The tongue and short snout gives it away. Ask the vet if the breeds can be cross bred with interfering with brain growth. He will know exactly what you are dealing with.

Being that the picture is close up and cannot see his whole body I am judging that he is a German Shepherd/Lab mix

He is very handsom good luck with the training

He looks like he might have Retriever in him...

If you're curious, you can always do the Canine Heritage test.

Why not have a DNA test done. Talk to your vet about it.
