well first lets look at what we know

U+U+U = U

so lets go through the possibilities

if U = 0 it would work

if U = 1 we'd get 3

if U = 2 we'd get 6

if U = 3 we'd get 9

if U = 4 we'd get 12

if U = 5 we'd get 15

if U = 6 we'd get 18

if U = 7 we'd get 21

if U = 8 we'd get 24

if U = 9 we'd get 27

so only 0 or 5 can work

if 0

then O + O + O = 0

if O = 1 then 3

2 - 6

3 - 9

4 - 12

5 - 15

6 - 18

7 - 21

8 - 24

9 - 27

so it can't be 0

so U must be 5

so we would carry the 1

so 1 + O + O + O = 5

so we would go through the possiblities again and see that if O = 8

then we would get 25

carry the 2

and we would have 2 + Y + Y + Y = 5

if we go through all possiblities we would see that if Y = 1 then we would get 5

so Y = 1, O = 8 and U = 5

start on the right column and plug in the numbers 1-9 and see which works out...this process might not be the only but it seems fairly easy

ex. first, try 1...you'll find it can't work because U+U+U does not equal U aka 1+1+1 equals 3 not 1

oh and from finding what U= you can use a similar process which i just did but i just realized that oncet you have U , just divide UUU by 3 to get YOU
