how to control hunger in the evening?

I have been try to loose some weight, do not want to take meds, but have such a hard time controlling my appetite in the evening. Husband works nights so I think it is from boredom. I have tried to keep busy but it just isn't working...is there a natural supplement I could take that would help?

Update:

I live in a very rural area that is very cold right now...and lots of snow. I cannot really get out to do much in the evening without driving 50 miles to do it. Thanks though.

    I've lost 111 pounds and am nearing my goal weight. Night time cravings has always been the tough spot. My suggestion that has worked for me is to avoid caffine at night as this creates cravings. Drink water (unflavored) and avoid anything sweet as this too only rev's up the cravings. If you need to snack go to blan and eat rice cakes or dill pickles are great for easing craving bouts. Good luck to you ! Remember most to "keep your goal in mind" and when cravings hit picture in your mind something you want to fit into versus the size you came from and that inspiration will often lead you away from the fridge.

    Well... you should try to find a hobby to keep yourself occupied. Another thing you can do is fill a large cup with water, and just keep drinking/refilling it, that way you will fill yourself up, and you won't have any room for food.
