Candles out or do you have one of those cool metal putter outer thingys? I blow mine out but I do hate the smoke and should get one of those things! Happy morning and day to you:)
yep, was hoping to get more answers that way:)

those putter out thingys are called 'snuffers' :):)
and i do both. I have pewter, ceramic, brass, snuffers.
but i occasionally blow out my candles too.
If you want to blow without the smoke, try lifting the candle up above you and blowing UP to the flame to extinguish.
Blowing down and across the flame will not only blow the wax off the candle, but could lead to tipping the wick and then the next time you burn your candle you could have an uneven burn.

Happy morning to you as well Bambam.
Did you know that you should always use a snuffer to put out your candles? Reason being ... blowing them out can actually make them a fire hazard. When you blow out the wick it can push it off center and if it leans too close to the glass the heat can shatter it and cause the wax to spill all over and catch the surrounding area on fire.
Not to mention the smoke puts more carbon monoxide and other chemicals into the air you are breathing in your home. Snuffing out your candles prevents as much smoke being produced so there is less lingering in the air.
I am an ex-firefighter and can't tell you how many house fires are stated by candles either forgotten about or burned incorrectly. I also sold Partylite candles for 2 years (and am in the process of starting my own natural candle company) so trust me on the snuffer thing ... it's worth it to have them!
Hope this helps a bit!
Peace to you ...

Like the good old days at my Grans - she had gas mantles downstairs and you took a candle up to bed, or when we had no electricity at times during the War years.
When you put out the candle you licked your thumb and first finger and pinched out the flame. No smoke - no smell.

I usually get candles with a lid and I just put the lid back on and it puts its self out with no smoke.
