Unanswered prayer: There are 3 answers to prayer?
1) yes
2) no
3) wait
God's timing in answering prayers is crucial. When have you had to "wait" for an answer to prayer, but then it finally came and you realized why there was a delay?

When I prayed for my boyfriend and I to be reconciled. It took months, and I finally gave up. Then, I had a dream that we were talking, out of the blue, and we came back together. Now, we are married. I truly believe the answer to that question was "wait." But I had given up hope, and so had everyone around me, but in my spirit, I felt that it wasn't over for us yet. While we were apart, the LORD worked on his heart, and mine. He came to me, and was sorry for the things that had broken us up. He came back to the LORD.
Thanks --- great question! Have a good night. You made me stop and thank the LORD tonight that perhaps the things I now pray for, are on God's "waiting list," and I that I shouldn't give up too soon.
God bless you.

Define "answered prayers" though. If you pray for the lottery and some how make it through a year of unemployment, how is that not an answer to your prayers? If you pray that your father will survive his heart attack but instead dies soon after you get to his side, how is that not an answer to your prayers? Sometimes what we think we want is not what we need. A lack of unanswered prayers isn't for any of your reasons.

Yes, I think that is so.
It depends what the prayer is about. If we have done wrong then it is no bad thing to have to dwell on our shortcomings and try and view them from God's point of view as expressed in Scripture.
In all things it eventually decides how faithful we are and how much the LORD God and His son mean to us. If we are willing to endure then we come through it as stronger in faith.

Prayer was one of my biggest struggles as a Christian and after searching and finding the reasons why prayers went unanswered I moved on as I realized I could never meet the requirements;
Lack of Fellowship with God and His word
Not seeking to Please the Lord
Unconfessed Sin in One’s Life
Improper Motives
Not asking in God’s will
Don’t know how to pray
Lack of Faith
Misunderstanding of Faith
Wavering faith
Failure to apply spiritual Authority
Lack of Perseverance
And P.S. ... the bible says "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or more come together in my name, there I am with them. --- Matthew 18:19-20 (NIV) It doesn't say your answer will be NO!!!

Prayer is not like going through a fast food line, not on demand.I prayed for my sister in law for 2 years, cancer, asking God to heal her and not let her die.Well she did and I was so angry with the Lord and I was praying about a month later and I was asking Him why did you let her die and I was crying and really telling Him of.God spoke to me and said:If she hadn't gone through what she went through she wouldn't be here with Me now.I realized she wasn't dead she has eternal life,He did answer my prayer she's not dead.I was so amazed and I apologized to Him and asked Him to forgive me.That's why Jesus said that when you pray, pray thy will be done.
That's what He means when He said He knows our needs before we ask.Gods plan is not our plan and He knows best, what we want is not necessarily what we need.He has answered so many prayers and then there are so many He didn't answer.I trust Him and His will not mine.

I prayed for my father for five years. He wasn't a Christian and I was praying that God would touch him. When God answered that prayer you don't know how happy I was. But during the time I was praying for him there was some things in my life that had to be took care of and God knew it. I found out for God to answer our prayers our life has to be close to His. I would have prayed for him the rest of my life if it took it. Hope this helped, God Bless

Want to know how to get your ex back? Change yourself. Don't worry about changing other people, worry about changing yourself. Go to https://tr.im/nxDQV
Once you do that then you can start to worry about getting back together with your ex, other wise you will find that you are fighting about all the same things and getting no where. Do what it takes and I promise things will work out in your favor.
The funny thing is I came to the realization that I had to change a little too late. After I was kicked out and after I was about to lose the only things that truly mattered to me - her love. A funny thing happens when we truly love someone and lose them. We do what ever it takes to get them back. For me I had to drop bad habits that had caused not only our relationship to sour but practically every other relationship I had had in the past. Not only with women, but with friends, co-workers, family, you name it.
Which is why I say to you as my ex at the time said to me, the only thing you can do is change yourself. Work on yourself and improve on the person that you already are. Drop the negative things in your life that don't belong there and you will see all of your relationships start to take off to new heights.

I waited until no answer came, which was always. Because something that doesn't exist doesn't talk back. One can easily believe that the answers to his prayers come in the form of a real experience, but if he was not already predisposed to expect an answer, he wouldn't think to try and make up some answer to fit the experience. You may believe that God can answer your prayers and questions, but it will always be you answering yourself.

There were times when I had to wait or the answer was no when I strongly wanted it to be yes, and it turned out my life would have been practically destroyed if I had gone through with this thing....such as marrying the wrong man.
