The Movie is.......(The envelope please)
Gentleman's Agreement--1947 (Oscar for best picture)
The reason it had an effect on HUAC was that many of the members of the committee were Anti-Semitic. (prior to this movie, even the words Jew and other slang(derogatory words) were not used in film.) It was one of the first movies to have commentary on social issues.
It was also the most affected in that Elie Weisel, Ann Revere and Several others were blacklisted, after being called(as a direct result of this movie)
One might also claim that John Garfield died because of this Movie(and the HUAC Hearings). He portrayed a Jew in the movie, was called before the committee, and then called again(this didn't happen very often). He died of heart problems just before his second hearing.

While I would suggest doing the homework yourself instead of coming on a public forum such as yahooanswers, the HUAC was the House of Un-American Activities Committee. They were a result (or perhaps even the perpetrators of) the Red Scare of the 1950s and held hearings to investigate many people (including celebrities) to determine whether or not they were communists.
