Dockside Dave's on St. Pete Beach. Grouper comes in off the docks on the day it is served...can't get any better than that.

A small place in San Diego's Ocean Beach area called "Thee Bungalow". Reservations are a good idea. Fairly expensive, but worth every penny. The cuisine varies from steak to seafood to more exotic fare, the portions are just about perfect. Your supposedly higher end restaurants may serve the same food, smaller portions and twice the price. In spite of the upper end menu, it's in a very laid back beach community so it's not uncommon to see a group at one table in evening wear and another group in shorts and Hawaiian shirts.

There is a place in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia called 'the Steak and Stein,'
That is mine.
I wish Yahoo would fix this idiot Spell Checker. The world does not revolve around Sunnyvale California.

Used to go to this place called The Malt Shop. Just a local joint with great food. Look for a local greasy spoon. They usually have the best food.

well, ones worth travelling to..or if you're in the area, definitely worth finding...
cajun...Razoo's in Plano, TX (outside Dallas) Best cajun I've ever had, even in Louisiana.
mexican...The Market in Solana Beach...Red Iguana in Salt Lake City (absolutely the best Mex ever...actually have national awards for their mole..try the amarillas enchiladas if you like spicy).
italian-Luganos in Salt Lake City ...superb. Also, the very best italian restaurant I've ever been to is La Rivista in Manhattan/theatre district (Luganos is a very close second)
thai-Bankok Thai Talay in Salt Lake City (not to be confused w/Bangkok Thai in Park City which is much more pricey and not half as good) - the best thai I've had ever, anywhere (haven't been to Thailand yet tho) There is another good one in Yuba City, CA..don't remember the name, but there can't be that many =) It's #2
indian- India House in Salt Lake City-best indian I've found outside of Detroit (I don't recall the names of the palces there but you almost can't go wrong)
sushi-Takashi and Tsunami in Salt Lake City..Ichiban would have been number one (lol, pun intended), but since the original owner sold it to a corporate group, it's gone downhill. It's in an old church and has a great atmosphere though (beautiful stained glass windows). Also Blind Dog Sushi in Park City.
chinese-best lumpia (though this is normally a Phillipine dish) at a place called Oriental Cuisine in Charleston, SC
There's a place called Mikes (I think that's the name, it's been years) in Taos, NM that has fantastic breakfast
I forgot a little place called Tacos mi Pueblo in San Diego (El Cajon, I think)...best carne asada besides my homemade stuff! (which I actually learned to make because of them!)

White Castle is my favorite too. 5 castles, onion rings, and a Diet Coke. Taco Bell is also a late night fav. 2 hard shell tacos and a chili cheese burrito, Diet Pepsi. Lots of Fire sauce.
