Which President, Up to & including Obama, had the highest approval ratings for the first few days in office?

Update:

Boomer:--- You may be correct about Washington but there are no statistics/polls from that era to support it! He was extremly popular among the Revolusionists but remember there were still a great many English supporters of the Crown in the USA at that time. Being vocal about would not have been a good idea so they just kept quiet!

Here are the numbers: Gallup’s initial job approval ratings were President John F. Kennedy, 72 percent; Dwight Eisenhower, 68 percent; Jimmy Carter, 66 percent; Richard Nixon, 59 percent; Bill Clinton, 58 percent; George W. Bush, 57 percent; and Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush, 51 percent. Overall, George Bush still has the record with a 92% approval rating just following 9/11. Obama's ratings will only go down steadily, as with all other Presidents.

I heard a report on TV today that said Eisenhower had a very high rating during the first few days in office. Obama had a 79% approval rating before he was inagurated. Doesn't make much sense to me since he didn't do anything.

JFK was 72% after a week. President Obama is at 68% after 4 days.

    Regan. No Kennedy did not.

Don't know...and it really doesn't matter. Obama's final rating is far more important.
