If I translate this for you in direct from the Ancient Greek manuscript,

Luke 24:25

25καὶ αὐτὸς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· ὦ ἀνόητοι καὶ βραδεῖς τῇ καρδίᾳ τοῦ πιστεύειν ἐπὶ πᾶσιν οἷς ἐλάλησαν οἱ προφῆται

And He said towards them, Oh! fools and slow in the heart of believing in all that was spoken from the Prophets.

The word ανοητος more accurately is the one who doesn't understand anything nor can comprehend. In some way He is calling them "retards" that need a hammer on the head to wake up from their deep sleep

I don't think he called them anything. But what he did say was that we're all God's children and there's room for everybody in heaven, it's there choice if they want to go there though

God does not have children. Jesus is just a man and a prophet of God
