Sensory Integration Disorder?
I am a teacher and I believe that one of my students is suffering from sensory integration disorder. How can I be sure? What are some things I can do to help him in the classroom?

I'd recommend the following sources below (no need for me to cut and paste what they've outlined.)
To help him/her you need to first identify his/her dysfunction and then tailor a program to meet the child's needs. The websites below can also help with this.
If you want to learn more, I recommend the book "The Out-of-Sync Child"

An occupational therapist (OT) and/or actual therapist (PT) are large factors. those experts paintings in public college structures among different places. they're very knowledgable on the subject concerns of sensory integration.

He really should be seen by the educational psychologist they are far more qualified to come up with a statement of SEN. If he does need a statement then he should be allotted so many hours of one-to-one classroom support so he is recieving the full benefits of your teaching. It would be unwise to support him yourself, as Im sure you are aware(unless you are SEN certified)as this could cause more harm than help to him&the rest of the class. Good luck, hope he gets the professional help he needs :)

Refer him to the school psychologist for evaluation.
