I know NOTHING of the justice system. Can anyone help with a Parole Violation?

so my boyfriend has a court hearing tomorrow. He has violated parole. dirty piss test, skipping school, not talking to his Parole officer, etc. He was already put in Juvie for this a few monthes ago but he appealed it. And now he's back in court for it. HE thinks hes going away for about 6 monthes. but his father spoke to his lawyer and the lawyer said itd only be probably 10 days.

Now....Im a pretty good girl and Ive never had to go to court or anything like that. so..obviously, i no nothing of the justice system.

So how long do you think he has? or what will happen in court tomorrow?

And im sure, if you do know anything about this, u'd need more information. but please...can u at least help me out the best you can.

best answer goes to the answer with the most help. Thanks

    Hi Michelle.

Well, your boyfriend who is on parole, skipping school and taking drugs thinks six months whereas his lawyer, who presumably didn't skip school, isn't on parole and may or may not have a drug problem, thinks ten days. Who do you think is more likely to be correct, bearing in mind that one of these two is an officer of the court?

I'm afraid I don't know a lot about the American justice system (being English) but I do know that if your boyfriend doesn't get his act together soon he is going to have a pretty bleak future. Either help him to sort himself out or sort yourself out.

You don't have to look very far, I'm thinking of Kate Moss, Amy Winehouse, to see what happens to good girls who get mixed-up with bad boys.

I don't know your boyfriend, he may well be a very nice chap, but if he can't stay clean long enough to finish his parole (WHY is he on parole?) he is giving a good impression of being a bit of a loser.

I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you these things but you asked for someone to help you out as best they can and I'm trying my hardest to do that.

Best wishes to you and good luck to your boyfriend. I hope he gets ANOTHER chance.

    Steve.

P.S. If you think I am coming on a bit strong, I have a God-daughter, called Michelle, who is about your age. I am telling you exactly what I would tell her in the same situation.

well if he has failed a pissed test then he is lookin at juvie, but if your lawyer was had a brain he will asked for a suspended sentence or a very long good behaviour bond, and if he takes drugs maybe they can exhange the sentence to a drug program so he wont have to go juvie,in sayin that he has to be clean for the whole program, more than likely he will get a suspended sentence hopefully!

i hope i help you some what, good luck hey!

    matt.
