Cancer Survivors, How long till you got back to regular life?

How long did it take you to get back to normal after chemo and/or radiation? I have been finished with treatment for a year but still feel tired and ache sometimes.

I am nearly 2 years out from treatment and feel pretty good most of the time, I have noticed that most if not all of the side effects that i experienced have gone away. I had uterine cancer, had 2 surgeries, radiation with weekly chemo and then 6 treatments of chemo after that so I had some issues! I didn't think I would ever get back to "normal" it just takes time, hang in there

My doctors think my chemo triggered my fibromyalgia, so shortly after my mastectomy/TRAM flap reconstruction I developed severe abdominal/incisional pain that lasted for about the next 7 years, before that started to improve. Since that time any where I have an IV or surgery I develop a new painful site. The radiation didn't throw me for a loop as much - the doc said the condition of my skin was some of the best throughout my treatment, almost the best in his practice; I was very lucky. I'm now 12+ years out.

I still had problems with appetite, fatigue and nausea 6 months after my radiation was over.

But that went away after I went to the IAT clinic in Freeport, Grand Bahamas where they give treatments of concentrated blood proteins - they have been there for 30 plus years and are staffed fully by medical doctors.

I think they are the best alternative cancer center in the world by far. I recommend them to anybody highly. Drs. do a pretty good job of making cancer appear to go away, but a very poor job of keeping it from coming back - this keeps you healthy in between.
