What are some good things about the 2010 vancouver olympics? ?

"Hi"...it made us do things that needed to be done...Sky train to YVR, improvements to the Sea to Sky highway, new Ice rinks, Richmond and UBC,improvements to Cypress, new accommodation in the downtown core in the "Athlete's Village". This has created jobs and enabled lasting amenities for the Vancouver area long after the Olympics is over.

It will bring revenue to the whole lower Mainland and Metro Vancouver area and Whistler and that's important !

We have a lot of youth in this country (which is geared to winter ) that will compete , want to compete and are looking forward to competing !

It will show us to the World as a modern peace loving , free and beautiful country and in these troubled global times that won't hurt a bit ! *S*

Canada line. Other than that, it looks like around $1 billion the city council has promised for the Olympic village is a nightmare.
