Vinyl dye is actually ink. It's "printed" much like a printing press then Dried in an "oven" .....I've seen heat guns made to do small repairs and that worked fine. I don't know about Silver over green...... dark colors don't cover with light ones....... There might be someone in an upholstery shop that would know better. Good Luck!

I have never dyed any vinyl seats but I have painted them and they turned out very nice.It is a special type of paint made just for vinyl.
You can buy it at any paint shop or hardware store. There are also many different colours to choose from.Hope this helps and good luck.

When I had a boat, I used a spray-foam upholstery cleaner that came with a little scrub brush on the can lid. Don't remember the brand name, but it should be easy enough to find a good vinyl cleaner at a local marina or auto parts store.

i don't recommend it !! the dye will run all over everything as soon as it gets wet.i dyed my seats in a camaro years ago, they looked great until my girlfriend got in on a rainy nite with light colored pants on and the dye was all over her pants. get a price on recovering them.

stop!!!!! dont do it.unless you know of someway to seal the seats afterward i suggest you not to do it.it tends to run or when someone sits in it when wet it will tranfer to their clothes. i would get different seats with the color i like. or simply get a cover to put on them
