Please, please, please!!! Do not put Neosporin or Vaseline on it. They can both damage the tattoo. They are petroleum products and can pull the ink out. I know, it sounds sill, to pull the in out, but it happens. Your artist should have had products available for you to purchase before you left. We have H2Ocean products, Tattoo Goo, and Tat Wax. The H2Ocean products are very good for your tattoos, but, if you are out and about a lot, I like the Tattoo Goo, it is small and fits in your pocket. If it is past the first three or four days, you can stop the ointment products like Tattoo Goo or Tat Wax, and start using a fragrance free lotion like Aveeno Baby. I use the Aveeno baby for my own tattoos after the first three days. Just make sure you don't let it dry out. One other thing, when you're washing it, make sure not to wash it with beaded soaps like you would get from Bath and Body Works. If nothing else, go back to the shop and ask the artist.

I would put Vaseline intensive care lotion unscented on your healing tattoo! You can rise off your tattoo to keep clean with mild soap (nothing with a scent though) but make sure that you don't scrub and when you dry just pat a towel lightly over your tattoo. Do this until your tattoo stops scabbing off. (I personally rub this lotion on my tattoos every once and a while, since healed, It gives them moister and life to them!)

use Aquaphor. and genitally wash it you get rid of some of the peeling but don't pick it off. I'm surprised that your tattoo artist didn't give you aftercare instructions.

it should heal after about 2 weeks and just use plain non-scented lotion and you are good to go.

The first tattoo I got I used Cocoa Butter & my skin is olive so my black ink healed to be a really pretty dark blue. My second tattoo I used Aquaphor and my tattoo scabbed over and took so long to heal but stayed black.

A + D Ointment works great on tattoos and if you google it and tattoo aftercare you will find that many tattoo parlors actually sell it on their websites in individual packets specifically for tattoos.

A&D cream for one week after the tattoo, 3 times a day. [walgreens.]

and for the week after that unsented lotion 5-7 times a day.

i just got a tattoo a few weeks ago.

    this worked perfect.

if it gets dry, it will have problems peeling, which doesnt make sense, i know.

but this indeed does work. :]

they told me to use vaseline or unscented lotion. I'm not sure exactly what E45 is. And they didn't specify when to wash, just to use unscented soap. Good luck!

use A+D cream.. it can be found in the baby aisle at Target or Walmart or local grocery store.

And it is safe to wash it but use gentle soap and NO SCRUBBING!

I was told to use vaseline too, but mine got a little bloody, so she (the artist) said you could put neosporin on that part.
