tax question (cut off age)?

Some one told my grandmother that she no longer had to file a income tax because she was to old.Is this true?

    Absolutely incorrect! It is based on income, not age.

    Remind her that she can get free tax help at any AARP Tax-Aide site.

    They will look through her income, tell her whether she needs to file, and if she does, they will prepare the return for her and e-file it for free.

    The income level where she needs to file is $10,300 if she is at least 65. That doesn't include Social Security income, which isn't taxable unless 1/2 of the SS added to her other income exceeds $25,000.

    I doubt thats true. She should continue to file an income tax.

    NOT true. Someone 122 would have to file if their income was high enough.

    Age has nothing to do with it. It is her income.

    this is not true-if you make more than 8025 usd you have to pay income taxes-sorry someone lied to you
