The Toyota 4Runner is among the very best. Its Composite Reliability Value is +1.00 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.

Also, the 4Runner is on AutoOnInfo.net's very selective lists of Vehicles with Best Engine Reliability, with an Engine Reliability Rating of +1.00 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00, and Vehicles with Best Transmission Reliability, with a Transmission Reliability Rating of +.88 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.

My parents recently bought a Toyota 4Runner 2008 last year. To be completely honest, it's an amazing car! It runs smoothly, it's big enough for a family, and it has so much storage space. I definitely recommend buying one. Although, during the winter because it gets cold.. it does take up some time to get the car warm otherwise it's phenomenal. And not only is it good for camping but you can also look really classy in it as well.

Look for a smaller SUV like a RAV4 or Honda CRV. If you don't need anything as big as a 4Runner you're wasting money on fuel, maintenance and not to mention they're hard to park. Your dollar will go further with a smaller SUV, you'll be able to afford a newer model than 2005. Check the dealer pre-owned lots and look at the CARFAX report, and arrange financing through your bank or credit union to get the best deal.

i wouldn't mind getting it...but really, think about it...do you need it?

i mean, its a toyota, so its gonna last you a long time. but do you really need a big SUV? if your going to be hauling big trailers or going offroading, then i'd encourage you to get it.

but if you only need it for a daily commute and to drop your kids at school, i'd reconmend something like a yaris, or a corolla. or even a camery or matrix.

trust me, with an SUV, you'll be paying more on gas, insurance, and it will be more expensive to purchase too.

but if you actually do need an SUV like that, by all means, go and get it!

Best in its class and can get 3rd row if needed and has airbags in front, curtain and side, also a 35MPH crash into door will not penetrate inside. The V6 has plenty of power and gets 24MPG average. Tows 55-6000 lb's, and has many trim levels including 4WD.

A great choice as they remain the most reliable vehicles in America,
