supposed to make the video show on a full screen but it just goes blank = you can hear the music but no picture. Should I return the laptop or am I doing something wrong, Please help!

It doesn't sound like it has enough video memory. You might want to try reloading the video drivers to see if that helps. You can download the latest driver updates from Toshiba's website. If that doesn't help and you want full screen video it would look into returning it.
