Hey good question..
Suppose Amy's age = A and Bill's age = B
So, A = 2B
And, (A-5) = 3(B-5)....five years ago.
Substituting A in second equation, 2B-5 = 3B-15, we get B = 10
Thus, Bill is 10 now.
Thanx...good luck !!

Bill is 10 year old and Amy is 20 now.
Let x= age of Bill now, y= age of Amy now
we have a system of two equations
y=2x
y-5= 3=(x-5)
solve for x and y

A = 2B
(A - 5) = 3(B - 5)
(2B - 5) = 3(B - 5)
2B - 5 = 3B - 15
15 - 5 = 3B - 2B
10 = B
B = 10 years (age of Bill now)
