Laptop for Linux Ubuntu?
Linux users, what is the best hardware configuration at a cost under $600, that will most efficiently run Ubuntu 7.10? I would like to run the distro, and be able to utilize MySQL w/ eith PHP or Ruby.
Graphics for gaming too.

The easiest way to get a laptop that will run ubuntu is to buy it with ubuntu preinstalled. It may or may not cost more than $600. The important thing is to be sure all the hardware works with ubuntu. If you get a laptop for less that $600 and have trouble getting the wireless to work with ubuntu I don't think you would be happy.
You do realize that ubuntu/linux cannot run ANY windows games directly and must use a windows emulator, which have mixed results.
When you get your ubuntu system be sure to read the documentation so that it will work smoothly.
