I don't know about princesses, but my favorite Disney heroine is definitely Fa Mulan. She has great personality, and unlike many other Disney girls, she doesn't play the stereotypical helpless damsel in distress. Mulan is strong, independent, and determined. She is a very refreshing character, I think. : )

Technically Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas is a princess. So she and Belle from Beauty and the Beast are my favorite.

mine is Ariel cuz she and i are 99% alike the only thing different is she is a mermaid oh and she just has that spirit that i have the type 2 dream and desire and to want things beyond are reach and we are a bit mischievous but we mean well. oh and are fathers NEVER LISTEN 2 US.
p.s i wanna a name ( if i have 1) my daughter ariel and her middle name will be melody just like Ariel daughter

Does Meg from Hercules count? I'm not sure if she's a princess. But she's pretty awesome. Doesn't take any crap from anyone.
