Has anyone else had a problem with Similac Advance making their baby sick?

When my son was born I put him on similac advance and he was okay for the first few days and then he started acting sick. He got diarrhea, was extremely fussy, gassy, and was hard to calm down. I got two free samples of enfamil in the mail so I started feeding him the enfamil and I have had absolutely no problems with him since. He is a happy little baby on the enfamil. I tried to put him back on similac for a few days because it is cheaper than enfamil and all his problems returned so he has to feed only on the enfamil formula. So, I know it wasn't an intolerance to the milk based formula, it was just the similac. Has anyone else had this problem with similac?

Then I would keep him on enfamil.

Part of the reason it might have been hard for your son to tolerate is because it's formula, and he was such a new baby. Formula is going to be harder on a babys tummy because babies weren't really designed to have cows milk and oils and other ingred. in formula. That's why breast fed babies tend to have less digestive probs IMO.

Enfamil is the cheaper of all the formulas I've seen, and you can get WIC vouchers at your local DSS office if you qualify for the program. I breast fed soley at first and chose not to get formula vouchers, because I personally prefer the ingredients of Similac over Enfamil, and they do vary, which could be why your son tolerates Enfamil better. Every baby is different!!

we could back up here. Soy formulation are even further bumped off than milk-based formulation from babies organic food source. (Soybeans do no longer lactate....) they might desire to purely be used the place there's a sparkling indication of an allergic reaction or intolerance to exploit and breastfeeding isn't an selection. Even then hypo-allergenic formulation (Alimentum, and so on.) are probable a miles better selection. (The jury continues to be out on the long-term hazards of enormous quantities of soy in an infant's weight loss plan.). Spitting up is popular. gasoline is popular. "soreness" is probable no longer popular, yet while it is element of the gassiness, it must be. Is there any threat of relactating and breastfeeding? If there is, that should probable be your perfect wager. babies are on no account allergic to breastmilk, although if infant has milk hypersensitive reactions you would be able to would desire to do away with or a minimum of decrease back the dairy on your own weight loss plan. If breastfeeding isn't an selection, i could pass back to the doctor and get a sparkling clarification to why he believes that soy is mandatory. Ask approximately different hypoallergenic formulation, and then make an knowledgeable selection.

I have. When my son was on it when he was first born, he threw it all back up, was always fussy, but it made him constipated.
