aliens, planets and what not?
Well, the thing is. I've been wondering lately why Scientists scrap the idea of life, because of something WE need, isn't on another planet, who says that other life forms need what we do?
I was just wondering why they are too afraid of stating a simple fact, any ideas?

According to the Hubble Site, galactic collisions were a very common occurrence in the earlier history of our Universe. Life forms on other galaxies may have been completely obliterated by novas and supernovas. If intelligent beings were able to build spacecraft and escape the wrath of their dying Sun, they may have been able to continue their species on other worlds.
And, although many life forms may exist on other galaxies as the Drake Equation infers, we don't know whether an exact DNA replica of Homo Sapien Sapiens exists (that's us). Superman comic books, on the other hand, depict baby Superman being shot off in a spacecraft just as Krypton is being destroyed. So perhaps we came from another galaxy that was obliterated by some galactic collision or the end of their Sun (supernova).
If you follow evolution though, it shows we evolved from the primate family?!
Also, although astronomers have discovered over 200 exoplanets, or extra solar planets outside of our solar system, many of them are planets which are "hot Jupiters". These planets orbit so close to their parent stars that their upper atmospheres are heated to 10,000 K by extreme-UV, or EUV, radiation. Life as we know it, could not exist under these conditions.

OK, simple: What is life? Life is in the most naturalistic sense, a self-sustained chemical reaction. This already limits the possibilities. Not all chemical reactions are useful. Many require input molecules, which exist only in a small range of temperatures and pressures.
What we need, is not necessary what other life-forms need and scientists don't search for our exact copies. But the range of conditions where life can exist is thin (compared to the possibilities in the universe). For example, liquid water is a must. We have no life on this planet, which is completely dry, and this is caused by the fact, that water is a very important basic molecule in the universe. It has many favorable qualities.
And this goes on... you need a material which forms cell walls to protect the chemical reactions from outside disturbances. Typically a hydrophobic substance, for example lipids, which can be easily produced by random chemical reactions in the same range of conditions, which allow liquid water. etc.
Of course, there can be differences between the life-forms. But no severe differences. You can have some details different. You can replace a few substances by compatible ones, or have a different system for storing genetic information.
But the basic conditions in which life can exist, is small. Too cold or too low pressure, and many important substances will not be available for reactions. To hot or too high pressure and other important substances will become instable.

No one's scraping the idea, most simply do not think that a humanoid life form that is similar to us can exist on another planet due to differences in the atmosphere. The aliens most people think about that are in movies and books are simply science fiction. the most we could hope to find even in our lifetime is very small organisms that can survive is harsh environments completely different then ours. Like water bears "Tardigrades".

When scientists look for life they base their search on indicators of biology. Biology is also limited by the laws of physics and chemistry. Because certain chemical functions necessary for "life as we know it" require certain basic chemicals (water and carbon, for example) and others are created (corbon dioxide, methane) as by-products, these are some of the indicators they look for. Although life has been discovered in environments previosly thought too harsh (underwater volcano vents), even these life forms still live within the laws of chemistry and physics. As far as something different from "life as we know it, so far it is just speculation.

Who has scrapped what? People can only work within the constrains of what is known. Anything else is speculation until proven. And what simple "fact" are they supposed to state? Facts are usually, among other things, from observation and evidence.

Without evidence you can't state facts
Todays scientists only seem to be inventing theories around certain ideas, discoveries, and statistics. It seems to me that they have stopped answering quistions with solid facts but rather flood the media with theories so that the public would choose their own answer wich suites the individual best...
What you seem to be implying is just a theory, based on another theory of "alien life" based on the theoretical statistics that there should be life on other planets. Without any actual evidence..

You will get your sup[posed aliens very Soon for there will be the so called "disclosure" of supposed type III "aliens" under the tenure of Obama any time from 2009 to 2012! WHAT A COINCIDENCE! After decades of conditioning, billions will fall for it but you won't because we are talking about it here and now before it even happens, plus you are going to read about it in
