what is a quick and easy way to get a photo enlarged in a photo editing package?

i have tow Photo packages eg photo shot but although it shows canvas and image enlargements i can never seem to get a small passport sized picture to get larger (6x4) and print at the larger image. any hints appreciated or maybe there's a simple free program that does this?

Resizing an image in Photoshop is simple:

    http://www.graphicsdistrict.com/tag/resize

Remember that if you resize an image on screen, it won't necessary display larger on the screen because it is might be zoomed in or zoomed out. You need to make sure you are looking at it "Actual Size" to make sure that it is Zoomed to the correct level.

Also I'd just point out that zooming in and zooming out does not enlarge or reduct the image - it just changes the view. You need to physically resize it using the Resize option in the menu - see tutorial video I posted above.

Also make sure the resolution setting doesn't get changed when you resize the image.

    I use 'Picturescaler' http://q-technologies.mallardcorporation.com/index...

It's a drag and drop program installed on my desktop. Download the shareware addition and double click the desktop icon to start it.Send your picture to desktop and drag it to the scaler. It gives you the options for scale etc.and produces another scaled icon.NB the shareware version produces a watermark at the bottom of the picture. You can get round this by first enlarging the height and triming after scaling or by buying the program. (Perhaps its not a quick and easy way afterall!)

I have used GoogPhoto4Less. Very professional and inexpensive.
