How many sets would the final have had Rafa had a easier semi final?
Do you think the final would have been shorter (with the victor being Rafa only) if Rafa had a much easier victory against Verdasco (say in 2.5 hrs or so)? If you have Star Sports, even Vijay Amritraj said if Rafa had a easier semi final, he might have won the final in straight sets also. Do you agree?

the final would still have been 5 sets.
if rafa had an easier SF, he most likely would have won in straight sets, at worst, 4 sets, but verdasco played insanely good, full credit to him.

If Verdasco tanked like everyone thought he was going to (similiar to what Gonzalez did against Nadal 2 rounds earlier) the final still would've gone 5 sets. Nadal's too fit for a 5 hour match to bother him (especially since Nadal and Federer has their own marathon match at the 08 Wimbolden.)
Now....If Simon AND Verdasco tanked, and/or Federer actually had to try against his QF and SF opponents (Del Potro and Roddik respectivly) then maybe it might have ended in 4, or maybe even (god forbid) with Federer winning. But you never know, thats what makes tennis so interesting to watch
