Federer's back hand slice shot?

Would I be correct in saying that federer doesn't play the slice shot? His slice shots appear to be more like drop shots that he hits much deeper into the opponents court. Also, most players that play the slice shot have their racquets almost parallel (like 20-30 deg) to the surface however fed's racquet seems to be almost perpendicular. Or is the drop shot also considered a slice?

Update:

oh no, this has nothing to do with Rafa or yesterday's final. Just an in general question.

Of course Federer plays the slice backhand. Its true that when he plays it the racket is not exactly parallel and also he doesnt have a huge back swing. But its not perpendicular either. The angled racket is just to give the ball some spin and flight. It also allows him to buy some time and get into position.

A drop shot is a different prospect. Usually its used to play a volley and when you are close to the nets. So, its not all the same. Every player plays a shot differently and there's nothing wrong with it. Its very well distinguishable.

I for one believe that the backhand slice of Roger is a good weapon for earning points. He won the point almost everytime he used it yesterday. But he was concerned that Rafa might get around it and smack it for a crosscourt forehand winner.

You can slice a ball with the racket head/face being in horizontal or (near) vertical position. Drop shot can be a slicing one too.
